MAPACHA Concept
For the past 7 years, MAPACHA has been a staple on the streets of Paje, offering quick (or at least we strive to be quick), delicious, and affordable food for tourists, residents, and locals. We provide a wide variety of food choices to cater to every preference and taste in an incredible setting in the heart of Paje, the jewel of the East Coast of Zanzibar. At MAPACHA, we aim to blend the best of Africa and Europe.
Our unique setup features cob (clay) buildings nestled under ancient trees, housing 8 kiosks each offering different styles of cuisine, and a bar famous for our amazing berry daiquiris.
The kiosk owners are young local entrepreneurs whom we support in starting their own businesses, learning specific recipes, and gaining the skills to eventually operate independently.
We believe in "teaching them to fish rather than just giving them the fish.
